Agenda 11/1-11/5

Learning Objectives this week:
The students will apply active reading strategies as they read and respond to comprehension questions.  They will also apply strategies for defining the meaning of words through the use of context clues and dictionaries. The students will use the PRESS strategies to help comprehend short passages of text.  They will be engaged in writing activities to show their understanding and comprehension of the texts that they are reading.  They will use figurative language to write a poem.  The students will follow the writing process and will begin brainstorming and drafting their personal narratives.
Monday, November 1st
  • SSR
  • PRESS - Reading Passages Strategies
  • Autobiographies/Memoirs/Personal Narratives (TEXT pg. 72-84)
  • On Level: WTRFG - We will finish the book by Wednesday and will have our FINAL TEST on THURSDAY! Read Chapters 16-20 this week. (Reading Comprehension Questions & Vocabulary)Bring a POSTER to class by THURSDAY so you can work on your STORY MAP PROJECT that is DUE MONDAY, NOVEMBER 8th!
  •  Pre AP: Wallwisher activity DUE FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 5th.
    Review study guide for VFS FINAL TEST on WEDNESDAY!Go to http://www.wallwisher.com/wall/PreAP-ActsofKindness Post your pledge to complete a random act of kindness to the wall. Make sure that you write the action and the date for completion of that act!
Tuesday, November 2nd

  • Personal Narrative - Prewriting/brainstorming graphic organizer - The Times of my Life.  Get your parents to help you to remember!
  • Write a poem about your earliest memory.
