School Pet

Ask your child about our school pet!  Today they listened to the book, Diary of a Spider by Doreen Cronin and then they wrote their own diary/ journal entry as if they were the spider!  Your children are so creative...ask them about their imaginative diary/journal entry!

First Day of School


 
Such a great day!  There were lots of expectations and procedures to go through but we managed to have a little bit of fun too!  We got to know our classmates better by introducing ourselves and asking questions.

Monday:

Tuesday:
  • Become familiar with Student Handbook,
  • go through writing process,
  • begin "Yourspace" interviews,
  • review core value words
  • PRE AP: Tic-tac-toe assignment sheet & rubric (DUE SEPT 2nd)
Wednesday:
  • Review core value words,
  • review author's purpose,
  • utilize conventions correctly,
  • follow the writing process (drafting)
Thursday:
  • introduce SSR connections and expectations,
  • continue writing process (revise, edit and prepare final copy)
Friday:
  • SSR Connections
  • Yourspace Oral Presentations
  • PRE AP: Tic-tac-toe project (assignments chosen and signed by parent)
  • PRE AP: Review for The Westing Game Test sent home (TEST ON MON. AUG 30th)
