Objectives for the Week:
The students will be reviewing and identifying figurative language through the reading and writing of poetry.  They will be utilizing the writing process to compose their own original poems about school and will focus on figurative language elements.  The students will apply active reading strategies.  They will gather sources and paraphrase information during a research project on singer/songwriters.  They will learn about valid and reliable sources as well as how to properly use MLA citations.
